Section 6: Key takeaways and additional resources

Lesson six: what to remember, and where to go next

Part of How to debrief 360 results and drive meaningful change, a six-section guide. Back to the overview

Key takeaways

Three things to remember as you run feedback debrief sessions:

  1. Prepare well for a successful 360 feedback session. Make time to read through participant reports and use the pointers in this guide to reach conclusions about the feedback quickly. Plan the conversation with an agenda and anticipate potential reactions based on what you see in the report and what you know about the participant. Use the constructive coaching responses in Section 3 where they help.
  2. Plan for growth and development. Schedule additional time if needed to discuss Growth Action Plans. Keep the plan simple by helping participants prioritize one or two areas that are critical to their career growth and to the success of the team and business, and do not forget to leverage strengths.
  3. Support participants’ development. Provide guidance, resources, and suggestions for growth actions, including on-the-job activities. Encourage participants to document identified actions in Perceptyx or other systems available to your organization, and look for ways to help them stay accountable for their GAPs.
