Performance Enablement

Purpose:
Create space for honest reflection on what helps or hinders us from doing our best work. The goal is to improve how we set expectations, support performance, and stay aligned with what matters most.

Sample Discussion Questions:

Performance

  • What conditions help you feel focused and set up for success in your work?

  • What does high performance look like here, and how is it recognized?

  • How clear are performance expectations on our team, both what we’re aiming for and how we get there?

Empowerment

  • How much ownership do you feel over your work or decisions?

  • Where do you feel encouraged to bring ideas or take initiative?

  • What helps people take smart risks, and what holds us back?

  • Where could I create more space for autonomy or problem-solving?

Resources & Communication

  • Where do bottlenecks, unclear processes, or missing info slow us down?

  • How easy is it to find the tools, information, or people you need?

  • What communication habits help (or hinder) your ability to do your best work?

  • Are there tools or resources we have but aren’t fully using?

Customer Orientation

  • How clearly do we understand our customers’ (internal or external) needs?

  • What gets in the way of being responsive to those needs?

  • Where have we gone above and beyond, and what made that possible?

  • How do we share and apply customer feedback in our daily work?

1, 2, 3 Action Planning

  1. What’s one change we can make to improve how we work, something that would help us perform better, faster, or with less friction?

  2. What two commitments can we make to achieve this?

  3. What three dates should we plan to follow up?
