Nudge boosts are temporary, targeted nudges deployed in response to emerging organizational needs revealed in your listening data or upcoming events impacting the organization like a performance review cycle or new fiscal year. They temporarily influence the nudges that are received by employees to reinforce particular behaviors that are relevant to events within the organization.
Note: Nudge boosts are available for customers with Activate & Grow and for Admins only. For more information, see the Activate Overview article or the Grow Overview article.
This article walks through:
The Nudge Boost Cycle
Nudge boosts don’t change the frequency of nudge delivery; rather, they change the focus of the nudges. Nudge boosts last for six weeks.
The cycle for sending different types of nudges is:
action plan> org focus area > personal focus area > action plan > org focus area, etc.
When a nudge boost is active, it replaces the org focus area nudges for the duration of the boost, and sends boost nudges more frequently (every other nudge). For example:
Week 1: Boost nudge
Week 2: Action plan nudge
Week 3: Boost nudge
Week 4: Personal focus area nudge
Week 5: Boost nudge
Week 6: Action plan nudge
Etc.
Nudge Boost Themes
You can enable up to 14 different types of nudge boost themes (if applicable) in your organization, including:
New team or re-org
Burnout risk
Interpersonal conflict
Transition to hybrid teamwork
Ineffective meetings
Performance review cycle
Low morale
Preparing for a change
Drive retention
Managing newly hybrid teams
Meeting overload
Fresh start
Career development conversations
Add a Nudge Boost
You can add a nudge boost via the Act page under Advanced Tools. You select a boost theme and the AI Engine uses a variety of inputs to select the right nudge for each employee.
Log in to the People Insights Platform.
In the navigation bar, click Act.
At the top of the screen, click Advanced Tools, then select Boost Nudges.
The Boost Nudges screen appears.
Click + Boost Nudges (top right).
The Boost Nudges dialog box appears, displaying available themes.
Select a theme and click Next.
The Create Boost dialog box appears, displaying details for the selected theme and a sample nudge based on the theme.
Review the details for the selected theme and a sample nudge and click Next.
The dialog box updates with options for defining the audience (set to the entire organization by default) and adding notes (to provide context; visible to admins only).
Narrow the scope of the audience, it necessary:
In the Audience section, click Filter to display the Filters dialog box.
Click a demographic to display its values.
Select the checkbox for each value you want to include in the filter.
If you want to add another demographic, click Go Back to Filters, select another demographic, and then select the values you want to include. Repeat as needed.
Click Add Selected Filters to apply the selected filters.
Each filter displays at the top of the Create Boost dialog box. You can hover over a filter to display the selected values. You can delete a filter by clicking X next to the filter name.
