Create and Edit Notification Templates (Platform Admins Only) | Point-In-Time & Lifecycle

The Listening Events section of the Admin Portal includes a Notification Templates option that takes you to the Notification Templates screen, where you can specify which global notification templates - whether created by Perceptyx or your organization - are available to your platform users. You can also create new notification templates and make them available to users.



This article walks through:



Access the Notification Templates Settings

You access the Notification Templates settings directly from the Listening Events screen.



The Notification Templates screen displays the following information about each template:


  • Title: The name of the notification template.


  • Active: Indicates whether the template is active (available to users) or inactive (unavailable).


  • Actions: Actions you can take for notification templates (edit, duplicate, and delete).


You can click the up and down arrows for the Title and Active column headings to sort the templates in ascending or descending order by either heading.


  1. Log in to the Perceptyx Platform.

  2. In the navigation bar, click the Gear icon.

The Admin Portal dashboard appears.

  1. In the Platform Settings section of the left panel, click Listening Events.

  2. Click the Point in Time and Lifecycle tab, if necessary.

  3. Click Go to Notification Templates.

The Notification Templates screen appears.



Edit a Notification Template

When editing a notification template, you can modify any of the text fields except the Sender Email field, which is populated automatically. You can use the formatting bar in the Email Content section to apply text formatting, insert placeholders or graphics, add attachments, and more.


  1. Navigate to the Notification Templates screen.

  2. Find the template you want to edit.

  3. Click the Actions option for the template, then select Edit.

The template opens.



  1. Make your changes, then click Save.

The changes are saved and available for use in new listening events.



Create a New Notification Template

You can create a new notification template by duplicating and modifying an existing template or you can create one from scratch.



Duplicate a Notification Template


  1. Navigate to the Notification Templates screen.

  2. Find the template you want to duplicate.

  3. Click the Actions option for the template, then select Duplicate.

The template is duplicated in an inactive state and added to the table on the Notification Templates screen.

  1. Click the Actions option for the duplicate template, then select Edit.

The template opens.

  1. Make your changes, then click Save.

  2. To make the template available, click the Actions option, then select Activate.

A confirmation message appears.

  1. Click Confirm.



Create a New Notification Template from Scratch

If modifying an existing notification template doesn’t meet your needs, you can create a new template from scratch. 


  1. Navigate to the Notification Templates screen.

  2. Click + Create New Template (top right).

The Notification Template (Global) screen appears.



  1. Complete the Title and Subject fields, which are required (denoted by a red asterisk), and fill out non-required fields if you want to.

  2. Complete the Email Content field. You can use the formatting bar to style the text, insert a URL and merge field placeholders, insert links and graphics, and modify the source code.

  3. Click Save.

The new template is added to the table on the Notification Templates screen in an inactive state.

  1. To make the template available, click the Actions option, then select Activate

A confirmation message appears.

  1. Click Confirm.



Delete a Notification Template

You can delete a notification template as needed.


  1. Navigate to the Notification Templates screen.

  2. Find the template you want to delete.

  3. Click the Actions option for the template, then select Delete.

A confirmation message appears.

  1. Click Confirm.

The template is permanently deleted.



Deactivate a Notification Template

If you want to make a notification template temporarily unavailable, you can deactivate it.


  1. Navigate to the Notification Templates screen.

  2. Find the template you want to deactivate.

  3. Click the Actions option for the template, then select Deactivate.

A confirmation message appears.

  1. Click Confirm.

The template is deactivated.
