Work with Demographic Settings (Platform Admins Only) | Point-In-Time & Lifecycle

Demographic settings allow you to control how demographic fields are used across the platform. You can make demographics available or unavailable for filtering in Advanced Reporting, map fields from your HRIS data to those used during the Invite phase and in reporting, enable bulk pasting for fields like employee IDs or email addresses, and set the display order of demographics in the Invitee table.

Demographic settings are divided into two tabs:

  • Main - Where you control how demographic fields are used across the platform

  • Display Order - Where you specify the display order in the Invitee table

This article walks through:

Make Demographics Available for Filtering

Use the Main tab in Demographic Settings to manage how each demographic is used in the platform. You can control whether a demographic is available for filtering in Advanced Reporting, customize its label, enable bulk pasting, and decide if it appears in the Invitee selection table.

The Main tab contains the following options:

  • Active: This toggle determines whether a demographic is available to be used as a filter in Advanced Reporting.

Note: The Employee ID, First Name, Last Name, and Email demographics are inactive by default, as these demographics should not be used for filtering.

  • Label: This field displays the label for each demographic as it appears in your HRIS data file. You can modify labels if you want them to display differently in reports or in the Invitee table.

  • Column Name: This field displays the name of the column each demographic appears in within your HRIS data file. This field is not editable.

  • Copy/Paste: This toggle enables users to paste large lists of information (such as employee IDs or email addresses) for bulk invitations.

Note: Our best practice recommendation is to limit this feature to the Employee ID, First Name, Last Name, and Email demographics

  • Invite Column: This toggle specifies whether a demographic displays in the table on the Select Invitees screen when users invite participants to an event.

  1. Log in to the Perceptyx Platform.

  2. In the navigation bar, click the Gear icon.

The Admin Portal dashboard appears.

  1. In the Platform Settings section of the left panel, click Listening Events.

  2. Click the Point in Time and Lifecycle tab, if necessary.

  3. Click Go to Demographic Settings.

  4. Display the Main tab.

To make demographics available for filtering:

  1. Turn on the Active toggle for each demographic you want to make available.

Important: The Employee ID, First Name, Last Name, and Email demographics should not be made active.

To modify demographic labels:

  1. Click the Label field for the demographic, then type a new label.

  2. Repeat as needed for other demographics.

To enable the copy/paste feature:
