Close Your Event (Or Reopen) | Point-In-Time

Modified on Tue, 2 Jul at 7:55 AM

When you close your event, participants can no longer access the event unless you reopen it. In preparing for close, you either schedule a close date for your event or close it manually. If some of your selected participants do not complete the event while it is active, you can also reopen the event after the administration window closes.

This article walks through:

Close an Event by Scheduling a Close Date

After an event is live, the Review tab updates to include a Close Date option. You can use this option to set a date and time for the event to automatically close.

  1. Navigate to the Launch phase for your event.

From within the Event Builder:

  1. Click Launch in the left panel.

From Listen:

  1. In the Active Events section or the All Events section, click Manage Event for the event you want to edit.

The Event Builder opens, displaying the Overview page.

  1. In the left panel, click Launch.

       2. Click the Review tab.

       3. On the right of the tab, then click Schedule Closed Date.

The Schedule Close Date dialog box appears.

  1. Click the Close Date box.

A calendar pop-up appears.

  1. Select a close date, then click OK.

  2. Click the Close Time box.

A clock pop-up appears.

  1. Click a number on the clock to specify an hour, then click a number on the clock to specify the minutes (e.g., 8:30).

  2. Click AM or PM, then click OK.

  3. Click Apply.

The scheduled date and time are displayed on the right of the Review tab. You can edit them or cancel them.

Manually Close an Event

You can use the Event Options dropdown on the Event Builder page to manually close your event.

  1. Navigate to the Listen page.

  2. Click Manage Event for the event you want to close.

  3. Click Event Options at the top of the page, then select Close Event.

A confirmation box appears.

  1. Click Close.

Reopen an Event

If some of your selected participants do not complete the event while it is active, you can reopen it after the administration window closes. The Reopen Event option is available only for events with a Closed status. This option makes the event active again for users who have not completed it without affecting any previously submitted responses.

  1. Navigate to the Listen page.

  2. Click Manage Event for the event you want to reopen.

  3. Click Event Options at the top of the page, then select Reopen Event.

A confirmation message appears.

  1. Click Reopen

The event is reopened.

Note: Reopening an event does not affect any current event responses.
