Crowdsource Reporting for People Leaders

Modified on Sun, 13 Oct at 12:24 PM

As a People Leader, you can view Crowdsource event results that include overall results, results by the demographic groups to which you belong, and results for your segment of the organizational hierarchy. When applicable, you can filter results by your direct reports, teams that your direct reports manage, and demographic groups.

To protect anonymity, all results are presented on an aggregated level. The anonymity threshold can be customized; however, our best practice recommendation is 5. If the anonymity threshold is not met for a particular demographic group or team, the platform automatically combines those responses with the next smallest group or team.

For multi-language events, results (including the infographic) are displayed in the preferred language defined in your user profile and exports show comments in their original languages along with translations.

This article walks through:

Report Overview

The report contains 2 tabs:

  • Summary

Displays scores for the entire pulse population and for everyone who reports to you, directly and indirectly. You can filter the results, view detailed audience metrics, and view detailed results for individual questions.

  • Exports

Export results to Excel format.

Access the Report

You access reports from the Analyze platform page.

  1. Log in to the People Insights Platform.

  2. In the navigation bar, click Analyze.

  3. Use a report action button to access the report dashboard for a specific listening event.

From the Report Eligible section:

  1. If a card for the event appears in the Report Eligible section, click Live Report or View Report at the bottom of the card.

  1. From the All Reports section:

    1. Use the Search Listen Event feature to find and display the listening event in the table.

    2. Click Live Report or View Report for the listening event.

The report opens displaying the Pulse Overview.

Participants: Total number of unique individuals who engaged with the platform in any way - 1) left a response, 2) voted on the open-ended responses, 3) viewed the aggregated results, or any combination of those actions.

Respondents: Number of participants who responded to at least one question in the pulse (can be a metric or open-ended question).

Answers: Total number of open-ended answers submitted by respondents. There can be more answers than respondents, as each respondent can provide more than one open-ended answer.

Similarly, there can be fewer answers than respondents, as some respondents may choose to not provide an open-ended answer.

Votes: Total number of votes cast by all participants in the pulse.

  1. Click View Results to open the report.

Summary Tab

The Summary tab displays your results filtered by “All My People,” which represents summary scores for each question as answered by everyone who reports to you directly or indirectly. You can click Audience Metrics to view detailed audience metrics, click a question to view detailed question results, or click the crowdsource question to view detailed results. You can use the Compare Results feature to filter the results at the Summary level or in the detailed audience or question views. You can also view an infographic for the results.

Filter Results

You can use the Compare Results feature to filter the results by your team (“My People”) or the demographic groups that you are a part of (“My Groups”).

  1. Click Compare Results.

Two tabs for options appear. Use the My People tab to filter by the entire company or the team(s) and demographic(s) you are associated with. Use the My Groups tab to filter by the demographic groups you are associated with.

  1. Click the tab you want to select from, click the dropdown for the category you want to filter by, then select an option.

  2. Click Apply.

  3. The results are filtered by the selected option.

Detailed Question View

The Detailed Question View is divided into three sections:

  • Overall Pulse Results: The % Neutral, % Positive, and % Negative scores for the question based on responses from the overall audience.

  • My People/My Groups: Tabs for viewing results by the people who report to you or the groups you are associated with. All My People reflects the summary score for the selected question as answered by everyone who reports to you directly or indirectly.

  • Team or Group Results: Summary score for the selected question as answered by your direct reports and the teams that report to you. You can use the View By dropdown to sort the score by a predefined list of filters.

If you hover over the lightning bolt icon (top), a popup displays the following information:

  • Ratings: Number of respondents who provided a rating for the question

  • Didn’t Answer: Number of respondents who did not provide a rating for the question

  • Respondents: Total number of respondents for the entire event

Note: The platform protects the anonymity of participants based on the anonymity threshold set by the organization. The most common threshold is 5 respondents. A respondent is a participant who responds to at least one question in the listening event.

Because the questions are not mandatory, a respondent can choose to answer some, but not all the questions. In the following example, the score displays even though there are only 4 ratings; however, there are 5 respondents. One respondent answered one or more other questions, but chose to not answer this particular question.

  1. To filter the results on the My People tab, click the View By dropdown and select the option you want to use as a filter.

The results update to reflect the applied filter.

  1. To view the My Groups results, click the My Groups tab.

  2. Click Back (top left) to return to the Summary tab.

Detailed Crowdsource Question View

In this view, you see the answers to the crowdsource question as answered by the employees associated with you, sorted by rank. Each response also includes:

Win Likelihood: The probability that the comment will emerge as the #1 answer. It’s a measure of how strong/important the comment is.

Views: The number of times the answer appeared in a voting pair.

You can use the Sort By dropdown to sort the results by top ranked or most recent responses. You can use the Filter Answers feature to filter by the demographics or groups associated with the manager or by themes.

Exports Tab

You can easily export your results into an Excel format using the Exports tab.

Note: The Exports tab displays only after the event is closed.

  1. Click the Exports tab.

Options display for Metric Results (a summary of the scaled question scores grouped by your team(s) and Open-Ended Results (all open-ended responses grouped by your team(s).

  1. Click Generate for the option you want to export.

The results are exported to an Excel file. When it is ready, the Generate button changes to a Download button.

  1. Click Download to download the file to your downloads destination folder.

Infographic

In addition to viewing results in the platform, you can download a high level summary in the form of an infographic. The Infographic tab displays a preview of the infographic that you can filter prior to downloading. You can download the infographic as an image or as a PDF file.

  1. Click the Summary tab, then click Infographic.

The infographic preview appears.
