Manage Your Live Listening Program (Survey)

Modified on Tue, 09 Apr 2024 at 08:04 AM

After your survey is in Live status you can still make some changes, duplicate the survey, or change back to Draft status to make significant changes or to clear out test responses.

This article walks through:

Edit Your Survey

You can edit your survey at any point before it closes. When your survey is live, you can make only limited changes (edit existing question text, logos, and colors). You cannot add or delete questions or responses.

  1. Navigate to the My Surveys page.
    From the
    Surveys page:

    1. Click +Build New Survey.

    2. Click the Ask icon (left menu) and select My Surveys.

From the Program Builder:

  1. Click the Ask icon (left menu) and select My Surveys.

  1. Click the eye icon (View/Edit Survey) for the survey you want to edit.

Note: You can also click the gear icon, then select View/Edit Survey.

  1. Click Build in the progress bar, then click Edit Live Survey (top right).

  2. Make your changes.

Note: Keep in mind that making changes to benchmarked items could impact benchmark reporting. Also, if you use multiple languages in your survey you will need to update translations.

  1. When you are done, click Review Changes (top right).

The Live Survey Changes dialog box appears. Here, you can review your changes and choose to apply or cancel them.

You can select or deselect the checkbox for an individual change item before applying edits.

  1. Click Apply to apply your changes to selected items or click Cancel Edits to cancel all your changes.

If you apply changes, a success message box appears. If you cancel edits, your changes are removed from the Live Survey Changes dialog box.

  1. Click Okay if you applied edits or click Close if you canceled edits.

  2. Click Exit (bottom right) to exit your survey.

Duplicate Your Survey

Duplication is a great option if you want to run the same/similar survey, or if you want to test a survey and then duplicate once you are ready to launch.

  1. Navigate to the My Surveys page.
    From the
    Surveys page:

    1. Click +Build New Survey.

    2. Click the Ask icon (left menu) and select My Surveys.

From the Program Builder:

  1. Click the Ask icon (left menu) and select My Surveys.

  1. Click the gear icon for the survey you want to copy, then select Duplicate Survey.

The Clone Survey from (Survey Name) dialog box appears, prompting you for an appID.

  1. Enter an appID, then click Clone.

The entire survey is copied, except for the appID and data file.

Revert to Draft

The Revert to Draft option is available only for live surveys. This is a great option if you want to launch your survey to a small group for testing. After testing you can use this option to remove responses, make survey edits, and then re-launch to the full population.

  1. Navigate to the My Surveys page.
    From the
    Surveys page:

    1. Click +Build New Survey.

    2. Click the Ask icon (left menu) and select My Surveys.

From the Program Builder:

  1. Click the Ask icon (left menu) and select My Surveys.

  1. Click the gear icon for the survey, then select Revert to Draft.

Note: If you use this option, it will REMOVE all survey responses. There is no way to retrieve these responses once deleted. Additionally, any previously scheduled survey launches that are in a pending status will also be moved back to draft.
